Isabelle Marie Lightwood
Name: Isabelle Lightwood
Age: 16
Nicknames: Izzy
Species: Nephilim
Special gifts: Isabelle has all the same abilities as any other shadowhunter has. This includes: superhuman strength, agility, stamina, and coordination. Her trademark weapon is her electrum whip, which is silvery-gold in color. She also possesses a pair of daggers and a seraph blade.
Face Claim: Odette Yustman/Odette Annable (Same person, not sure which last name she goes by now, so I put both just because.)
Personality: Isabelle Lightwood is known as snobbish, vain, somewhat promiscuous and narcissistic but has some insecurities. She is sensitive about her height and sometimes wishes to be much smaller. She is very fashionable, usually having the latest fashionable shadowhunter gear. She is also portrayed as haughty, but still a warm, loving individual.
What is very well known of her, is that Isabelle possesses a fiery temper which she releases upon people from time to time. This fiery temper leads her to throw temper tantrums, locking herself in her room when things go wrong, and flinging objects at people when they intrude on her solitude.
Isabelle can be a fiercely loyal friend, but she is also volatile and prone to mood swings. She is not a fan of mundanes at first, but after meeting Clary and Simon, her attitude towards mundanes changes. She cares about her family a lot and is very loyal to them, especially to her brother Alec. It's been suggested that Isabelle draws attention to herself only to get the attention away from her brother Alec, so their parents won't find out about his homosexuality. Out of all the Lightwood children, she is arguably the most mature in the sense that she takes on a maternal role towards all her siblings. After Max died, the experience took a heavy toll on her and she blamed herself for his death for some time.
Physical appearance: Isabelle is very beautiful, tall with long dark hair, dark eyes, and a slim waist. She is very tall, which she despises. She always makes herself look beautiful and sexy with whatever she wears and makes sure that everyone notices. She loves boots. They practically go with anything she owns in her closet. When in Shadowhunter gear, she always carries a gold whip given to her on her 12th birthday by her father.
All over her body, she has many scars of battle wounds and runes drawn upon her skin, that have been permanently placed on, or have faded.
Family:
Mother - Maryse Lightwood
Father - Robert Lightwood
Brothers - Alec Lightwood, Max Lightwood (deceased)
Adoptive Brother - Jace Wayland
History: Isabelle Lightwood was born only about a year after Alec. Although her parents love her very much, she was given harsh training and fierce love. She grew up learning to be a warrior and quickly adapted to living this way as a child. Alec had always looked over her when she was younger so as she grew older, she figured to do the same for him once she had gotten strong enough to take care of herself. She had lived a happy life with her family in Idris. And even happier, when Jace had entered into her little family. Of course he was a bit distant than the rest of them, but she and Alec love him all the same, maybe Alec more than she did.
When Valentine had rose against the conclave, her parents were accused of helping and were kicked out of Idris. They had to adapt to the life in the mundane world where all the Downworlders were. She hated it, hated all the mundanes and all of the Downworlders. She, Alec and Jace never went to normal schools, instead they were always out hunting Downworlders. During her spare time, Isabelle was usually out partying and finding another guy
When Isabelle had first encountered Clary, it was immediate dislike. As time went by, she noticed that Jace had given Clary more of his attention and so her dislike for Clary grew and she began seeing her more as competition. Honestly, she is a bit jealous of Clary’s physique, how smaller she was and well, how beautiful she was for a mundane. Eventually Clary grew on her, along with Clary's friend Simon, who both changed her opinions of mundanes. When she first met Simon, she showed to have a thing for him, despite him being a mundane. Though after the rat incident at the club, she kinda drew back.
Since Clarissa entered Isabelle's and everyone else's life, their life seemed to turned upside down. There began a search for the Mortal Instruments. They had their search cut out for them as they traveled together and protected each other, especially Clary, she was the weakest of them all for having not enough training. When Valentine had emerged form hiding and Jocelyn was told to be Clary’s mother, things got very confusing and harsh as time flew by, especially the night that Simon had turned into a vampire. That was one of the harshest impacts on Isabelle, she cared deeply for him.
As things were settling down slightly, Valentine had admitted that he was both Jace’s AND Clary’s father. That knowledge hurt Isabelle, despite her having nothing to do with the situation, as she had to see Jace deal with it everyday and know that he was deeply in love with Clarissa, but could do nothing about that love. This just made her hate Valentine even more. But she rested her trust in Alec and Hodge to keep Jace busy and help him cope. She was even more hurt to find out that Hodge had turned his back on him and turned over to Valentine. She fought hard with Alec to get Jace and Clary, and even Simon off of that wretched ship, and her soul ripped a bit when Alec had been hurt. But they were okay in the end. She had gained more respect towards Clary when she had helped save them from the ship and when she had stayed with Simon through the sunlight, which in the end turns out that he was immune to.
A war was happening and they were smacked dab in the middle of it. During this time Sebastian had appeared to them again from a long time ago. She had shown a big interest in him, giving him her trust and alliance, and in the end, he gave her back death. Max, her youngest brother, the only other sibling she had besides Alec, [and Jace], was now dead because of Sebastian. She vowed to get revenge for Max and get her hands on Sebastian. Even if she had to side with Downworlders to win this war and come after him, which she did, she was willing to go to the ends of the earth to find him and kill him as revenge for Max.
Eventually Isabelle is faced with her brother's murderer, Sebastian, once again, when trying to help out Jace fight him. She fights with him, but in the end, Jace is the one to kill him. Even with the death of Max's murderer, Isabelle still feels guilty for his death.
(I'll be honest, I have not yet finished COFA. But I will soon! Then I can add more to the history.)
RULES:
Jace Lightwood for president.
Your name: Cassie
Roleplaying experience: 7 yrs.
Sample of Roleplay: I hope you don't mind it's from another view of another character of mine: Rose from Vampire Diaries.
The sight of Elijah brought great fear to the vampire, as her instincts of survival took over and told her to run. Thoughts of Elena, Damon and everything else vanished with one look from the elder vampire. Her legs taking quick action as she swiftly sped out of the apartment of her now deceased friend. Within that moment of running, nothing else mattered to the 500-year-old vampire. Running had become part of Rose’s nature in a way, especially after all those years of running with Trevor. Although, this time it was different now. Trevor was dead. Rose would be running alone now.
Coming to a stop in a deserted one-lane highway, miles away from Mystic Falls, Rose couldn’t help but question her actions. Was running still what she wanted to do? What was the point when she would be running alone now? Where would she even go? “Damn it…” She swore under her breathe as her hands curled into fists. “What am I doing?” She asked herself, running her hand through her hair. Glancing back in the direction from which she came, she bit her lower lip contemplating on her next move that would either change her fate, or keep her headed on the same path of running forever.
Fate had chosen change for her by a beep-like ring going off in her brown leather jacket. Rose pulled out the cellular device causing the ring as it read on the screen, ‘One New Email’. She opened the email through her cell phone and was shocked to see that it had been from Slater. “No way…” She spoke in disbelief. Rose rolled her eyes, “I’m going to end up dead soon, really dead…” Sarcasm clearly heard through her tone as she began heading back to the Salvatore Boarding house to share the interesting news she had just found out.
Upon arriving at the doorstep of the Salvatore Boarding House, Rose stopped herself from knocking. Was it really okay for her to come back after she had left so abruptly? Had she really wanted to get back into this doppelganger dilemma that was clearly a path to certain death? Sadly, the thought of Damon came into mind and how much he loved the human Elena. Rose had taken quite a liking to that specific Salvatore brother, which only made her want to help him out more with everything that included that fragile human being, especially since she had just received new information that might help a lot.
Instead of knocking, Rose opened the door and entered calling out the names of the Salvatore Brothers. “Damon?.........Stefan?.......Hellooo?.....Anyone Here?” Her English accent being clearly heard bouncing off the walls of the boarding house.
It didn’t take long for one of the Salvatore Brothers to appear. And that’s when she heard his voice, ”Can’t stay away can you?” Rose let out a small breathe of air, her stomach going sour as if she had been guilty of a crime and was about to confess. She had hoped of running into Stefan rather than Damon. Stefan had always seemed easier to talk too. And the fact that Damon and her had a very small short-lived past brought certain feelings to the surface. Not any feelings of love or of that sort, but the feelings she had tried to ‘turn off’ during their nights together.
Rose turned around, hearing him ask her what did she want. If Rose could see herself in the mirror right now, she probably looked pitiful like a stray cat that had no home. Taking a step towards Damon, she responded to his question. “I want to help.” She said with true sincerity. Rose was done with running, if she was to only survive less than a month without running or even less than a week, she’d accept it. Her life till now had no real meaning and it was time to change that.
As Rose looked at Damon and his stance, she knew that she would need to do some convincing of her words. “Look, I know you must be upset with me for what happened with Elena last time. I honestly did not know she was trying to pull a suicide and if I did, I would not have gone through with it because I know how important she is to you.” She affirmed as she tried to lock eyes with him to show how seriously sorry she was for what had happened. Hopefully he would believe her.
Rose wasn’t the type to apologize because most of the time she never did anything wrong, but she swallowed her pride and said the two words most people could never say aloud. “I’m sorry, okay? And to make up for that, I came across some information that may be of some help.” She dug her hand into her leather jacket as she pulled out her cell phone. Motioning her hands in the air holding onto her cell phone, Rose took another step towards Damon. “Now the information isn’t much, but it’s something at least. And something is better than nothing which I’m sure you all are at.”
Extending her arm out, Rose held her cell phone out for Damon to take. She knew that what she had said was probably not enough to convince him, but she really wanted to help and so she would. “Take it.” She gestured with her arm out. “Then check my emails and read the recent one from Slater. I’m guessing he sent it out before he was killed and with everything that was going on at the time, I never checked my cell phone till recently.”
