Dun dun duuuuuun. It's the part that everyone hates. You hate to read 'em, I hate to write 'em, but it must be done for the welfare of the site and for you as a member. The rules are especially important, considering as a deal of them vary from site to site, and the same applies to the rules here. There may be some that you've never seen before, or some that you know by heart. It's still important to read them, and now that I've made myself clear and seem rather self important, let us continue.
These rules are subject to change at any time.
Thanks! <3

BEHAVIORAL RULES {OOC}
01. Be respectful. Please please please respect the staff most of all. No, we're not trying to make ourselves seem more important, but we do actually have to put time and effort into this site just like anyone else. We try to keep the peace, and we have to make sure every application is accurate and good enough for the site, so please just let us do our work with little to no fuss. I hope it sounds easy enough to remember. ^^
02. No drama. No, we don't care to know that the guy who's playing Joe Whatever-His-Name-Is is your baby's daddy. I know that sounds crude and in some cases maybe offensive, but I hope it gets the message across. We understand, characters clash and dislike each other. This does not mean that members also do that. If someone is causing trouble, or you feel uncomfortable around a member, don't start something. Leave it to a staff member and contact them either through private chat or private messaging. We won't bite, I promise. However, this is a rule that we will crack down on. This is one of those "three strikes and you're out" rules. We will not hesitate to ban troublemakers. Be forewarned. o.o
03. Keep OOC cursing to a minimum. There are some younger members on the site, so if we could all be mindful of them, that would be wonderful. Seeing the occasional 'damn' or 'hell' has never killed anyone, but please do not use curse words very often. It takes away from the respectfulness of the site.
04. Activity is a must. Of course it is. If you're not an active member, why be a member at all? We will have monthly activity checks to make sure that members are staying active. You don't post in that, and you're account is gone. Wiped out. And if you had a canon, that canon is once again made open for claiming. Essentially, this rule to scare off any of those folks who will just join and run. We don't like those people. *growls*
05. Graphics (banners or sigs) no bigger than 300x500 pixels. Pretty simple. We just don't want the page to get stretched.
06. HAVE FUN. If I have to explain this to you... yeah.
ROLEPLAYING RULES {IC}
01. We have the right to say 'no' to an application. Yes, we understand that you put a lot of work into so-and-so's bio/app, we do. But as administrators, Nick and I have the power to tell you that the application needs tweaking. We want everything to be as realistic as possible, so we will indeed be very close watchers of applications and the like. We are reasonable administrators. If you're having a problem with something we asked you to fix, go ahead and ask us to see if we can help. We want you to be a part of the site just as much as you do. But if your application does not meet our standards, we reserve the right to tell you that your application might need to be changed.
02. Wait to be accepted before posting elsewhere. We request that when you post your application (we request that all applications are posted and completed within ten days of joining), you wait until a staff member reviews it before posting anywhere else. Please be patient - we promise to look over the app within 72 hours, and if it's past that, please let us know. But until we tell you that your application has been accepted, please do not post anywhere in the IC areas.
03. Check individual plots with everyone involved. This is a fairly open site, and we love for people to get involved. We do have one requirement, though. When you ask an admin or another staff member to approve of your mini plot, we just ask one thing in return. By the way, just wanted to let you guys know, the password for the app is Jace Lightwod for President. Everyone who is involved with that individual plotline must be informed of the plot, and they must have approved of it. I.E. Let's say Jocelyn wants to get involved with a mundane. The person who plays Luke, who is, by canon, Jocelyn's fiance, obviously has to know about this, and he or she has to have approved of the plot before we as admins will allow it to happen.
04. Custom characters ARE allowed, with limitations. Of course we'll allow original characters, because where would a roleplay site be without any originality? However, there are limitations on the kind you can create. Anything goes, really, EXCEPT: we will not allow any long lost siblings (for example, NO, Jace does NOT have a little sister that has magically been living in Manhattan all her life). Nor will we allow any originals with connections to the canons UNLESS the roleplayers playing the canons approve of the connections first. I.E. I don't want someone making a mundane who was a friend of Clary's in school if I haven't approved of it myself.
05. One canon per person, with rare exceptions. Considering as this isn't Harry Potter, where there are like hundreds of canons, we can only allow one canon per person except for in very special situations. I.E. It's been two months. You play Magnus, but you also want to play Isabelle. We've been waiting for an Isabelle for two months because she's important to a plot that Simon and Clary want to do. Well, if nobody shows up, we will allow you, the person who plays Magnus, a change to play Izzy. Sound fair?
06. Keep it PG-13. If Cassandra Clare won't write it, we won't write it. Simple as that. Although, if there is something that will move the plot along, we will allow you to fade to black. But please ask permission first. This also means that cursing is allow IC, but not too extensively.
07. 300 Word Count Minimum I'm hoping this is simple enough to understand. This is at least an intermediate site, so 300 words per post at least. We will be a little strict on this. 299 words, we understand, but not 150. People have off days with their muses, we understand (trust me, we do), but that doesn't mean that you can't pump out a measly 300 word post. Please take this rule into careful consideration.
SPECIAL RULES
01. We WILL be picky about Sebastian. This is fair warning. This is a post CoFA site, which means we are picking up where CoFA left off, only a little ways after that. Which means that SPOILER ALERT, Sebastian is alive and well again and wreaking havoc. Whoever plays Sebastian will not only have to completely perfect his app (that's an intimidating way to put it, but we need Sebastian to be played VERY WELL), but the roleplayer will also have to work very closely with Nick and I, the admins, in order to make sure the storyline stays in check.
These rules are subject to change at any time.
