CLARISSA JOCELYN FRAY
Name: Clarissa Fray
Age: Sixteen
Nicknames: Clary
Species: Nephilim
Special gifts: Clary has the ability to seemingly create runes, due to the angel's Ithuriel's blood that runs through her veins. But the truth is that she feels like she's only remembering runes that have long been forgotten, but the truth is unclear.
Face Claim: Lily Collins
Personality: Clarissa Fray can be described many ways by many different people. But the truth of the matter is that she's a kind, loving, and stubbornly loyal Nephilim who will do just about anything to protect those that she loves. She's exceedingly stubborn, as anyone who knows her can testament to. She will do what she thinks is right in pretty much any given situation, no matter who's ordering her to do something different. It doesn't help the situation when Clary's quite the courageous little thing - even in the face of death or her enemies, she stands firm and always tries to dismiss her fear. Her loving nature is so much so that at times it leads to her being selfless, to the point where she might be self-sacrificing. The thinking behind this is that Clary absolutely hates the idea of anyone suffering for her, especially when she might be the cause of that suffering.
But by no means is Clary Fray perfect. She has her flaws like any other person on the face of this planet. Her stubborn streak, for one, can constitute as a major problem for a lot of people, especially those who are trying to keep her out of trouble. But also, Clarissa often worries herself over the smallest little things, making her worry needlessly sometimes about things that ought not to be worried about, and because of her nature, Clary often blames herself for being the source of other peoples' problems. Whenever someone won't tell her what's wrong, it's her default to assume that it was something that she's done, and she'll often attempt to make up for it no matter if it's her fault or not. She's also strongly independent, which while that might not be a flaw, she does turn it into a flaw sometimes when she convinces herself that she can do something on her own.
Now, while this is not a problem, the other major factor of Clary's personality is her attachment to other people. Clarissa is exceedingly loyal, and will always stick by the people she loves' sides. Her mother, Luke, Simon, and most of all, Jace. If there is one thing that anyone can say about Clary, is that there is nothing in heaven nor hell that will keep her from loving the people that she cares about.
Physical Appearance: Well, overall, Clary's an extremely small-framed young girl at just over five feet tall with an extremely bony frame. She often comments on how she has practically no curves, and she often appears fragile due to her tiny stature. She bears a strong resemblance to her mother, Jocelyn, with her red hair and startlingly green eyes. Her hair is curly and sometimes has bits of it that are dyed, sometimes darker or lighter than her true hair color.
She has a fairly pale complexion naturally, and she rarely wears makeup. Her clothing articles of choice are usually jeans and t-shirts, and she likes to wear colorful sneakers with them to give herself a little bit of variety. A lot of the times, her jeans are splattered with paint, what with her mother having been a painter and all. She also draws on her jeans from time to time, so there's little doodles on some of her jeans as well. The one accessory that she wears almost constantly is the Morgenstern ring that Jace left her during their time in Idris.
Family: Mother: Jocelyn Fray
Father: Valentine Morgenstern (Deceased)
Brother: Sebastian Verlac (Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern)
Soon-to-be Stepfather: Luke Garroway
History: Jocelyn Fairchild and Valentine Morgenstern, Clary's parents, were both Nephilim who were in an organization called the Circle. They had one other child before her, Jonathan, who was half demon (as is revealed in City of Fallen Angels, Lilith was the demon who gave her blood to give to the young Jonathan), and was thought of as a monster to Jocelyn. She reviled the child, and swiftly fell into a depression, thinking that she was the cause of the deformation. But while Jocelyn was pregnant with Clary, Valentine, to whom the pregnancy was unknown, dosed Jocelyn with blood from the angel Ithuriel to treat her depression. Jocelyn was unaware of this, and it affected Clary as well. It is due to the angel blood in her that Clary can invent new runes, and her use of runes can be exceedingly powerful.
Since Jocelyn did not want Clary to grow up as a Shadowhunter and with Valentine as a father, she ran away from Idris and moved to New York City. When Clary was just an infant, she was taken by her mother to see the warlock Magnus Bane, who effectively blocked her Sight. Clary grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn with her mother and Luke acting as her only father figure. Her best, and probably only friend, is Simon Lewis. When Clary was younger, Jocelyn always used to tell Clary that her father was Jonathon Clark, a man she was once hired to paint, and that he died before she was born.
One fateful day at the club Pandemonium, however, while she was dancing with Simon, Clary came across a band of Shadowhunter teenagers, among whom was Jace Wayland (his last name at the time). She witnessed them murder another teen, but Jace informed her that the teen was in actuality a demon. Convinced that they were insane, Clary thought nothing of it and never expected to see any of them again. However, the next day, Jace came to the coffee shop in which one of Simon's friends was taking part in a poetry slam, where he promptly invited her to return with him to the New York Institute to meet his tutor. But when Clary receives a frightening call from her mother, she immediately leaves and doesn't reply to Jace's offer. She returns home to find her mother gone and a demon waiting for her, which she successfully kills but gets poisoned in the process.
Jace is the one who finds her, and he brings her back to the Institute where she meets Hodge, Jace's tutor, and his adopted siblings Isabelle and Alec. It's revealed to her that her mother is actually Jocelyn Fairchild, and that Valentine is her biological father. She learns of the Circle and all that it did, but still nobody could seem to figure out why she was so much like a mundane. So Hodge summons a Silent Brother to determine what's happened to her mind. The Silent Brother, Jeremiah, tells her that she must accompany him back to the City of Bones, and Jace hastily agrees to go with her for protection. In the City of Bones, the Silent Brothers tell her that her mind has been blocked by Magnus Bane, a warlock.
When she, Jace, Isabelle, Alec, and Simon go to seek out Magnus Bane, he isn't much help. But while there, Simon is transformed into a rat and kidnapped by a vampire. Clary, stubborn as ever, goes off to find him, once again accompanied by Jace, where they rescue him from the Hotel Dumort. Shortly afterwards, Clarissa and Jace fell in love, and they shared their first kiss in the greenhouse above the Institute.
Shortly afterwards, though, everything goes awry when Hodge betrays the Lightwoods and hands the Mortal Cup and Jace over to Valentine, who is not dead as everyone presumed. Clary immediately seeks out Luke's help, and together with Luke's pack, they wage an attack on Valentine's home. During the attack, Luke and Clary get inside, and Clary finds Valentine and the kidnapped Jace. Valentine reveals that he is also Jace's father, making them siblings. But Valentine escapes to Idris, where he has hidden the Cup. Clary retrieves her mother, who is in a coma, and takes her to a hospital.
When all attempts to revive her mother are proved to be fruitless, Clarissa goes to live with Luke. She started loosely dating Simon, but she never felt the connection with him that she did with Jace, who she believed at the time to be her brother. Murders of Downworlders began to capture everyone's notice, and hectic circumstances have everyone on edge. Jace, Clary, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec, all go to the Faerie Court to confront the Seelie Queen. Unbeknown to Clary, she is tricked into eating faerie food and is forbidden to leave until she receives a kiss from the person she wants it from the most. Naturally, this results in Clary and Jace kissing, which upsets Simon and he storms off shortly after their departure from the Court.
Shortly after that, Simon is transformed into a vampire, and of course Clary blames herself for this horrid occurrence. Then, when Simon is kidnapped to be sacrificed by Valentine, Clary wastes no time in an effort to go rescue him, when in reality she ends up getting compromised and cornered by Valentine himself on his ship. While there, she creates one of her first runes to blast the ship apart, and she almost drowns in the attempt. With her mother still in a coma, Clary meets a woman named Madeleine who tells her that she knows of Jocelyn's condition and can help cure it. Clary eagerly accepts her help.
However, Madeleine is killed shortly afterwards when Jace, Simon, and the Lightwoods transport themselves to Idris without her knowledge. Clary once again uses her abilities to create her own Portal, through which she pulls herself and Luke into Lake Lyn outside of Idris, where Clary is poisoned because she takes in some of the lake water. Luke takes her to his sister, Amatis, who heals him and agrees to let her stay with her until Luke can find a way to get them home. Clary sneaks out of Amatis' house to go in search of Jace and the Lightwoods, only to be introduced to Sebastian Verlac and Aline Penhallow. She catches Jace and Aline kissing in the Penhallow library, and she and Jace get into a huge argument, after which she storms out and runs into Sebastian. She tells him about her mother and he agrees to help her.
The next day, she and Sebastian go out in search of Ragnor Fell, the wizard who can help Clary cure her mother. She runs into Magnus there, who, while he freezes Sebastian, informs her that she has to find a specific spellbook that contains the cure in the Wayland home. Afterwards, Sebastian takes her to see the ruins of the Fairchild manor, where he kisses her. Feeling that something is horribly wrong with his kiss, Clary quickly pulls away and they return to Alicante. There, in Amatis' house, Jace is waiting for Clary and together they end up venturing to the Wayland manor, where the pair of them find the spellbook Clary needs and discover the angel Ithuriel and that one of the Morgenstern childen (Jace believes it is him) possesses demon blood.
When they return to Alicante, they find it in chaos and flames as demons swarm the city and attack and kill innocent civilians. They were Valentine's forces. Valentine sends the Shadowhunters two alternatives: fight to the death or surrender. While the Clave debates the decision, Clary returns to Amatis' house, where her mother shows up, without her coma. In a fit of anger directed at Jocelyn, Clary storms out of the house and goes to a hill, where Simon shortly joins her and the pair of them have a long discussion. When they see that the Clave is planning to surrender to Valentine, Clary remembers a run that Ithuriel showed her and goes down to tell the Clave. After much debating, they accept the rune. (At some point during this time, it is also revealed that Sebastian is the true Morgenstern child with demon blood in him, which means that he is Clary's real brother, and that Jace is not related to her at all.)
Clary learns of her father's plans and goes to stop him, only to be bound and silenced by runes that Valentine places on her. When Jace arrives, already looking horrible, Valentine stabs him through the heart and kills him. The angel Raziel, upon being summoned, sees through Valentine's plans and kills him. Clary, since she managed to put her own name on the binding runes of the ritual, is granted one thing that she wants, and Clary chooses for Jace to be brought back to life.
Everything appears to be glorious and happy, until more murders are occurring and a new mystery emerges. It is revealed that Lilith, mother of all warlocks and demons, wants to resurrect Sebastian (who Jace killed before the fight with Valentine) because Clary's bringing Jace back to life allows her the chance. To Clary's knowledge, they stopped her, but now something appears to be wrong with Jace, and she has no idea what she's going to do, or what can be done... and with her mother's and Luke's wedding coming up, she has no idea what to focus on.

Jace Lightwood for PresidentYour name: Harper

Sample of Roleplay:
It had probably been one of the best nights of Harper's life. She'd fallen into a deep sleep, exhaustion permeating every single part of her being after having faced the minotaur and a long bus ride with hardly any food. Her arms had been around Gavin, his arms had been around her, and with her Mr. Blankie wrapped around her legs she'd been perfectly warm and comfortable. Gavin had definitely been a sufficient enough pillow, his heartbeat had served as a lullaby until she was too far into sleep to hear anything. And once she hit that, the dream had started. It wasn't exactly a nightmare, but it definitely wasn't the best dream she'd ever had either.
There had been rushing water, a lot of it - so much of it, in fact, that it couldn't be anywhere but Niagara Falls. She was in a tunnel for a minute, then on a bus alone for another. There was Gavin and Sophie... everything just seemed to be a blur except for a few flashes. There was a flash of two hats... both of them appearing to be beanies, and one of them just felt like there was something wrong with it, and that was the one she most remembered. Until the end. There was a scream; a scream that pierced the air and pierced her ears and made her entire head hurt. The scream induced such fear in Harper. It made her think of falling, and before she knew it she was falling through her dream, the scream still echoing as if it was determined to follow her until the end of time...
And that had been when she'd woken up. Harper'd started, letting out a squeak of terror as her eyes flew open. The world had turned bright again, and momentarily she'd forgotten where she was. It was so warm and comfortable that for a minute she thought she was with her mother in a foreign country. "Five more minutes, Mom," she chose to grumble, feeling a little tired after the nightmare. She buried her head in her pillow. "The pool doesn't open until ten, remember?" As she continued to bury her head in her pillow, she suddenly remembered where she was, who she was with, and the pillow she was burying her head into was actually Gavin's chest. Her eyes opened wider as the tiredness suddenly faded away and her face went bright red.
In fact, the person in the room was Sophie, with what looked like a full-out breakfast. Harper brightened at the sight of her sister. "Sophie!" she exclaimed cheerfully, but careful to keep her voice down in case Gavin was still sleeping. Harper kept her arms around her boyfriend and yawned and laid back down against him, looking at her sister with brightness in her eyes. "Is your leg better? Did I do an alright job in healing it? I don't think I was able to heal it all the way, because I was way too tired and healing just takes the energy out of me, but I hope that..." She cut herself off, knowing that she was going on a tangent again.
Just very quickly, Harper smiled and turned and kissed Gavin's forehead before looking back at her sister with red on her face. She simply hadn't been able to resist showing even that small amount of affection.
